You may have seen the update from the government on tonight’s news advising that dental practices can open from June 8th. While we welcome the news that we can open so we an get back to doing what we do best, this date had not previously been advised to the practices themselves. The guidelines rightly dictate that, for the safety of our patients and staff, we must have the correct enhanced PPE in place for each level of treatment. The suppliers currently have shortages of these essential items and the availability may restrict our re-opening. We look forward to opening as soon as we are able to do so safely. We will contact patients accordingly where their appointments have been cancelled or they have contacted us for assistance during our closure. Pre-arranged appointments for the coming few months may not stand as we prioritise those in the greatest need and in accordance with new protocols.

Following advice from the Chief Dental Officer and British Dental Association, the practice is now sadly closed until further notice and we are no longer able to see patients for face to face appointments, therefore we are only able to provide a telephone advice service. We await further guidelines from NHS England with regards to the patient pathway and the locations of centralised urgent care hubs.

If you have a genuine dental emergency that can’t be managed with over the counter pain killers, please call 07719908882 and we will advise accordingly. This phone will be monitored between 9am and 5pm Mon -Fri. Outside of these hours please call 111 or the Somerset Dental Helpline 0300 1237691.

If you have a previously arranged appointment, we are sorry, but we will be unable to see and the appointment will be cancelled. Those appointments up to 17.4.20 should have been contacted by text or phone by now.
